![]() Not every piece in this collection was a great story, but among the ones that stood out to me was the tale called “All Cats Are Gray.” It contained a number of her short stories, along with one essay written by her and two or three others composed by her admirers. One of the books I picked up was The Many Worlds of Andre Norton. From that point on, if a book had Andre Norton’s name on the cover, I grabbed and devoured it. I must have reread that novel, ‘ Ware Hawk, three or four times before moving on to the rest of the Witch World series. I had never thought of magic being the equivalent of extra-sensory powers before. ![]() I had been fed off of Marvel’s X-Men and Star Trek for so long that my idea of paranormal powers was scientific rather than magical. ![]() The book was shocking Norton’s use of magic and power was totally new to me. I discovered one of her Witch World novels after I found it amongst a bunch of books that my mother and father were sorting through. ![]() I was introduced to Andre Norton, the Grand Dame of Science Fiction, when I was sixteen or seventeen years old. ![]()
